The Philadelphia Philies famous mascot, the' Phillie Phanatic', has no reason to be cheering and jumping around today as he is faced with a personal injury lawsuit from a 75 year old woman.

The incident occurred at a minor league game in 2008 and Ms. Crass is now looking for over $50,000 in injury compensation.

75 year old Ms.Grace Crass, of Wernersville, was in attendance at the Reading game with her church group when the Phanatic jumped climbed through the stands and ended up standing on Ms. Crass's legs, causing her arthritis to kick into action. This resulted in Ms. Crass requiring a lot of medical treatment which will result in Ms. Crass needing knee replacements.

This is not the first time the Phanatic has been involved in a personal injury lawsuit. the famous mascot has actually been sued successfully on 3 previous occasions; in one case he was successfully sued for $42.5 million in damages after injuring a man while giving him a bear hug at a paint store opening.

The Phanatic isn't the only mascot to have had to deal with injury lawsuits: The Cardinals mascot was faced with an injury lawsuit earlier this season for shooting a man in the face with a hot dog gun and, in 2008, the Chicago Bulls mascot was sued for giving a high five which was too aggressive and resulted in a man tearing his bicep!
