Two individuals where in a car accident in Los Angeles as the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a pedestrian.

Reports state that "According to California Highway Patrol’s 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 268 people were killed and 25,588 were injured in Los Angeles accidents. During that same year, there were 667 fatalities and 52,229 injuries reported as a result of car accidents in Los Angeles County."

Thus it seems car accidents are not limited to the people within vehicles. We are all responsible for keeping the community safe, and one's driving ability can mean the difference between life and death.

Here is an excerpt from the news:

>> The Los Angeles Times reports that a vehicle traveling south on Federal hit a car being driven by Yaghoubian and heading east on Santa Monica. Yaghoubian’s vehicle then veered out of control fatally striking a pedestrian, Pablo. Yaghoubian and Pablo were fatally injured in the accident, while the driver of the southbound vehicle received minor injuries. A third car also struck another stopped vehicle in the incident, but did not result in additional injuries. <<

My heart goes out to the injured...
