Personal Injury
The number of personal injury claims made in the UK has drastically increased, according to a Law Gazette report.
The number of personal injury claims made in the UK rose by 31.8%, from 914 in 2006 to 1,205 in 2008.
This is a surprising statistic as the Compensation Act of 2006 was introduced to try and reduce the number of personal injury claims made as it imposed registration requirements on claims management companies and created the Ministry of Justice's claims management regulator.
It is believed that worsening economic conditions and the current recession is the principal reason behind this increase in personal injury claims, with more people looking to claim personal injury compensation in order to reduce financial stress
